Silent Sunday's

We've been searching high and low for a little stuffed friend that would be a perfect size for our daughter to love and attach too....

...and by golly we found her.

Errr....them.

You see-we are firm believers in having a replacement item, God forbid something go wrong with horsey #1. [Yes, they are horses.] You see, having two nieces who are very attached to their "bear" and "sheepie", I know the importance in back-up lovies. When one is in the wash...you have another. When one gets lost at the mall...you have another. When one gets left at Mom-Mom's...you have another. So? We're planning ahead in case we can never find Miss. Horsey again in all her vintage pink and brown goodness.

Trying to be good parents already,

& Declan

  12. Good for you for thinking ahead!! My son attached to a stuffed monkey and we couldn't find another one anywhere to replace it once it got just too dirty that washing didn't even help, so we bought a "similar" one and told him monkey got a new hair do when we washed him...luckily he bought it! :)

  14. VERY cute! and back-ups are VITAL! My daughter wears glasses (since she was 4 mos old) and we have 3 pairs of those expensive little buggers right now. Saves TONS of time searching for them while she wanders around blind :)

I second the picture with that horsey every month. Did it will all 4 of my children for their first year of life. Then displayed the photos at their 1st b-day parties... it was SO much fun to see them grow month by month...

(I think you better post those monthly pics on Silent Sundays too :)

  17. Your daughter is going to have a Mommom? I have a Mommom! And it is unusual for Illinois. Is it common by you? Also, make sure you regularly switch the horeses and one isn't just the backup. When I was little, I would not take a different blankie even though the new one was identical with my original.

  19. Great idea. I will have to keep this little tip in mind for when my little one becomes attached to a favorite.

I have to comment on the last post. As I read it my own little one tossed and turned inside. I am 2 days over due, which really isn't that over due, but when you talked about all the things you are looking forward to it really hit home for me too. So precious, your little one is so lucky to have a mommy that loves her this much already.

    Take care,
    Lisa

  22. Oh, wow...you're bringing me back. We did the same thing for our first. Our daughter.

She attached to one immediately. The other one hung around. Until she was about 18 months old, and decided she wanted #2 also.

She named them Favorite Horse. And Other Horse. To this day (she's six) she sleeps with them both, wants them when she's really upset, and can tell the difference between the two even though they look and feel exactly alike.
