Minutes after pushing her out I put my hands on my belly. 'What the heck' I thought...that firm baby belly is suddenly jello. Actually, I wasn't concerned about what it looked like, I was more in denial that 'holy crap a few minutes ago this baby was IN me...and now....now this baby is OUT of me!?!' [Seriously....still amazes me.]
But, back to the jello belly.
It's weird. I'm not self-conscious about the extra weight around my mid-section right now. If I have a cute little baby by my side, nobody stares at the belly--all they care about is the sweetness radiating from little Emeline's face. And also--I'm not superhuman. Not everyone's stomach goes down to what it looked like pre-pregnancy right away. I'm not one of those girls.
In efforts to 'keep it real'...here are a few shots of my 5-day post-partum belly.
(and yes...I realize I look pregnant still, but to my defense my uterus still isn't exactly back to normal yet)
