Monday Minutes

Did you all notice my new header? My husband is fabulous. [If you're reading in Google Reader, get outta there and come check it out...]

I'm seriously loving staying home. I had multiple people tell me I'd be "bored" staying home with a baby, but I am anything but that. I adore it. I really, really do. I'm made for this. Now I just have to figure out a way to stay home forever.

The finale of Big Brother is this week (and yes I watch that garbage)...and while I found this season fairly boring, I'm still hoping either Hayden or Lane wins. [Even though it appears that Lane comes from money...] Enzo just simply does not deserve it. He did nothing.all.season.

I feel like I LIVE at the fabric store lately. That's good news, though--because, it means I'm making headbands and getting orders, I guess. The employees are starting to recognize me and Emeline.

Speaking of the little Miss...we started her at a new pediatrician this week. Long story short, we used to have her at our family doctor but I needed more then that (as a new mom). I was really pleased with the new doc, and he told me multiple times at her checkup that she has a great temperment and is a really good baby. She smiled and giggled through the entire appointment until we got to the dreaded 4 month shots. She did some crying, and then quickly passed out from exhaustion.

It was confirmed by the doctor....she IS teething. Ouch. It hurts to say that out loud. Thank God we have a Sophie teether on the way.

We were given the go-ahead to start the solid's journey. We have started her on some pribiotics rice cereal here and there. I haven't been super consistent with it yet, but we've tried it about 3 or 4 times. She makes the craziest faces ever, and it's amusing to say the least. Last night, though-she did much better with it, and some of it (I believe) was actually swallowed. Hah...

I am officially a football season widow...it has begun. Declan will be enjoying this season with his mini-cheerleader by his side. He will be doing everything in his power to have this little girl appreciate the sport more then her momma. Go for it.

Oh, and we're officially obsessed with leg warmers. Seriously...for around the house lounging and such? It MAKES so.much.sense! No pants to remove for diaper changes? Why thank you. How convenient. And freakin' cute. We love.

~*~

Happy Monday...

  2. OMG what if her first word is "E-A-G-L-E-S!!!" ;)

I swear my husband will be trying to get that cheer out of our (future!) children as early as humanly possible!

  5. I *LOVE* Big Brother and am so sad it's ending. Lane is my favorite to win.... I was really hoping he and Britney would make it to the finals together. It does seem like he comes from money, though. Hayden and Enzo probably could use it more.

Little Miss is just too cute for words. Love the eating photo..... and she does look like she's not sure about the whole football thing, lol.

LOVE that you're enjoying being home. I'm not even married...... so a baby is a loooonnnngggg way down the way, but I wonder how I'm going to handle going back to work.

  6. Love the new header...I need to update mine, it's been too long! Unfortunately I don't have a tech saavy hubs to help me, so it usually takes hours and hours of yelling and frustration on my part!

So jealous of your stay at home mommy status. I sat in the chair today with my little man and cried knowing that next Monday I will be at work already. :(

We LOVE the baby legs at our house too...perfect for these early fall days. Plus I have football ones, so even my husband approves of leggings on his son. And they're a HUGE hit everywhere we go!!

  7. Great investment on Sophie. Connor loves his and Wrigley loves it more! I had it buried in Connor's toy basket and Wrigley dug it out and stole it! Love the post shot picture. We have to go to the Ped today for a weight check. I think Connor has outgrown his Zantac and needs a larger dose. I HATE getting down to just a diaper! Worst part about the doctor. Have a great day!

  8. I had so many people tell me I'd be bored too. That and that I was "wasting my potential" if I stayed home.

Harumph. I love being home!! And I'm HARDLY bored. I've never been so busy from sun up to sun down (okay, from baby wake up to mommy go down) :)

  9. Awe I need to find a way to stay a stay at home mama! I love being here with my girl and knowing that I only have a few more weeks with her makes me sad!

I too watch BB and I'm rooting for Lane. I know he comes from money but he is HILARIOUS and I just like him.

  14. BB fan here too! I was so sad when she got the boot! Now I am for Lane, then maybe Hayden, definitely agree no Enzo! I think he will be in the final 2 though b/c Lane won't pick Hayden and vice versa I would think

  15. Right now the plan is for me to stay home once we have kids. Some people say they will get too bored. But my fiance and I are messy people. So I have enough to clean around here with just the two of us! I have a felling with a baby I will be MORE than busy! Haha.

  16. she is getting so big, i cant even stand it katie!! 4 month shots, where did the time go? i LOVE me some Babylegs. i had this fab idea to use them in each of his monthly shoots (i only had one pair at the time) and after my successful and adorable 1 month shots, i purchased 11 more pairs (because clearly he cant wear the same pair in EVERY picture) and my husband comes home from work, sees the pictures and goes, "my son does NOT wear legwarmers. or leggings. or whatever. he looks like a sissy boy!!" needless to say, i never told him about the 11 more pairs on the way... Oops.

  17. I love Big Brother too! Enzo has done nothing at all! Go Lane!!

Lil Miss is as cute as ever!

  18. Rice cereal was like manna from heaven for us! Rory was a good sleeper always, but as soon as she started rice cereal for breakfast and right before bed, BAM! She slept so much more! It was beyond fantastic. She felt fuller longer and I was one thankful mama!

Also, I think Emeline looks pained in the last one because she's secretly ready to cheer for the BEST Football team in Pennsylvania...THE STEELERS!! ;)

  19. Yeah, I had people telling me I'd be bored too. And after he was born, I would get the sympathetic, "Sooo... how are you doing?" as if to ask me, "So... are you miserable and just pretending to like it?"

I LOOOVE being a stay-at-home mommy. I love getting to see every single darn thing Noah does during the day. It's definitely not easy, but I was totally made for this.

Just be happy she's not at the stage where she recognizes the doctor everytime you go. Noah now knows where he is... THE PLACE WITH THE NEEDLES. He used to be all smiles and giggles... now he SOBS. I'm told it gets better by the time they're 5. I hope so!!

Those leg warmers are freakin adorable!!

  20. I so hope that I get a little girl someday soon so that I can put her in your headbands and buy tons of leg warmers, I think they are the cutest things ever.

And I feel you on the football widow thing, especially since my husband is a coach so I never see him during the week and then we spend ALL weekend watching. Woof.

  21. Ummm, yes, can we pimp Declan out to redo our headers for cheap pls? My blog designer wants like $15 to do it!!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh heavens, she looks terrified in that football pic with Daddy! Too funny!

And leg warmers? They're kind of my No. 1 reason to have a little girl.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ahhh the leg warmers are too much!!! So glad you're enjoying staying at home!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I love the new header! And the leg warmers, oh my goodness! I already bought the little man 2 pair of them, but I'm wondering if they are too girly for him? eh, who cares!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I'm totally in love with your header and the leg warmers. And your little lady has the prettiest eyes I've ever seen!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Katie, how did the Declan do your header?? I have tried making one in a picture editor thingie and it never loads right. It is always too short and etc. Please beg him to show us how he does his magic :D Love the new header!! Y'all are a super cute bunch!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Your husband did such a great job on the header! Love it :)

The leg warmers are just too cute. And so is Emeline :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Enzo better not win! I hope lane wins.

Emeline looks like she's pleading with you to rescue her from the football in that last picture. Too funny.

  29. love the new header. You cant be bored with a baby and an etsy shop!!! Just make enough money with that and you can stay home!

  30. Just came across your blog and wanted to say hi! Your daughter is precious and I love her name! My son will be 4 months on Friday so I think they're pretty close to the same age. I ordered the Sophie teether last week too and am (im)patiently awaiting it's arrival - ha! Love your blog. :)
