I hate blogs about blogging.

But today I have to do it.

I love this blog. I do.

It is my little corner of the internet. My place to recap special events. My spot to post way too many photos of my beautiful baby girl. My spot to write.

But, it's become slightly overwhelming.

Not the writing aspect. I love to write.

I just hate the fact that I've outgrown the ability to keep up equally with most of you.

There was a time when I could.

But now? It's pretty much impossible, and that kind of bums me out.

I don't want to talk numbers right now, but trust me...a freakishly high amount of people read this little old blog. Why? IhaveNoClue. But hi!

Anyway---the point of all this is:

I need some new blog reads, but sadly, I can't keep up with every one of you.

Anyway, my baby girl deserves a momma and not a blog-reading zombie.

I tend to read with google reader on my phone while nursing. Hey, it's the only time I get to sit on my toosh guilt-free anyway.

Because of this--I'm a terrible commenter. Unless I really feel like something hits home, and I have!to! say something--then I'll make a point to come back and comment when I'm on my laptop (its pretty much impossible on my phone).

So, here's what I'm asking:

If you're an active writer (aka: more then 2x a week typically), and if you're pretty sure that I'm not a follower/reader of your blog (some of you I may be subscribed too in Reader and not show up as a 'follower'), and you feel like you "Hey! I want Katie to come back and read my blog!"--

...do me a favor and leave a comment.

Make sure to link to your blog if it isn't connected to your profile. I'll promise to click through all of them and check you out in hopes to find some new blog reads and get to know you better.

Mmmk?

So how's that for my blog about blogging?

So glad I'm done now.

Excited to find some new reads, and feel free to leave recommendations of others you like too.

***

Happy Friday!

  7. Hey Katie - I am avid reader of your blog, I read every single day! Your daughter is absolutely beautiful - I have 2 boys, so reading about a little girl seeing all the pics you post is a nice little change. I have just come back to the blogging world - check out my blog, maybe something will spark a little interest!

  10. You've got lots of readers because you keep it real on here. And because you and Declan are the cutest sweetest couple I know, and becasue of that darling little girl. And Mac's cute too :) I've been a reader for a while, but I didn't comment for a long time because I read at work and certain things are blocked SOME of the time. I found you through In This Wonderful Life, I THINK. I follow you on Twitter too (ablansford0620) and I probably comment a lot to you, I'm pretty much obsessed with Twitter.

Anyway, stop by my blog if you want! But I understand how hard it is to keep up with everyone. If I didn't have time during the work day, I'd be seriously behind :)

  11. Hi Katie! I know you're already a follower, but just wanted to say hi and I appreciate all the advice you give me on my blog. (Please don't stop! :) hehe) I can't remember how I found you, but it was probably at the beginning of the year, before I was even pregnant. Now, that I'm due with a little girl in 4-6 weeks, I really enjoy reading your honesty, triumphs, and joys in parenting. It's nice to have someone to "look up to" in the Internet world (creepy, no?) LOL

  15. I don't really blog about anything super exciting. I'm not a mom or really crafty or into vintage (although sometimes I wish I could be haha), but I'm newly married so that might make for an occasional interesting read ;) I found your blog randomly as well but really like your style of writing and your daughter is adorable!
    Have a great weekend :D

  16. Girl, I think you read the blog (but don’t know how often), but TOTALLY understand the no commenting…. You have a full plate and frankly, you’re right, it gets overwhelming trying to keep up with everybody and maintain your own blog!! Just do what you can do girl… And for the record, your blog is really one of the first one’s I check each day, ha!!

  17. Hi Katie! I read your blog every single day but have never left a comment! I love your blog and your little girl is adorable. I have recently started blogging, nothing major by no means, just about my random life!

  18. Regular reader and commenter....... I found your blog when I met Brittany, Little Woman, and Justine, in person. We were talking blogs and yours was one that two (or maybe all three) of them said I should check out!

I don't know if you read my blog, or if it would even interest you, lol.... but, if you want to check it out....

  19. I love your blog and your daughter is absolutely precious (we're excpecting our own in early December). No worries on commenting - I completely understand that you have tons that's way more important going on - but I would still love for you to stop by when you have time. Happy Friday!

  20. i'm in awe of you!! i have a few blogs, but i've been neglectful of them lately. 4 kids in less than 5 years will do that to ya, eh? i love it.

anyhow, you so don't have to read my blogs! i totally get the time it takes. there are a few that i read daily, and others that i catch up on once a week - it makes it easier for me.

keep being your wonderful self, katie! xoxo

  21. Ohh so agree with the baby needs a momma statement. I think I tell Allie twice a day "okay okay, I'll stop being a blogger and start being momma now."

Not sure if you follow, but you are welcome to. Some times I'm really good about blogging and some times I suck at it.

Thanks for the encouragement the other day on my brain dump post.

  22. Not really sure if you read mine or not, but you're always welcome! :p I have a tough time commenting too, the systems at work make me jummp through a whole lot of extra hoops to do it and sometimes...there's just not enough time in the day! But I do read! (and actually follow you on twitter too! @purelyelegant)

  23. Oh gosh, I'm the worst commenter now thanks to Google Reader...it lets me be lazy. I make myself comment on blogs for a few minutes every morning. I have such a burden, no? ;)

    ReplyDelete
  24. I hate blog posts about blogs too, but this is a great post. I think you follow me back... But if not my blog name is heavenly day. I'm Erica.

  25. Read me!

    *Bahahaha!*

Seriously, though, I totally know what you mean. I don't have nearly the readership you do, but I have 3x the # of kids so the amount of time i have to read is about the same as you. (Um, that made sense in my head.) But the reader on the phone? Best thing ever. But I don't get to comment as much, unless it really resonates. So yeah. I'm gonna stop taking up space on your site and go lurk on Twitter now.

  32. google MACS BLOG it's great. maybe you already read it? it's a christian mother writing about life, raising her little boy, after loosing her little girl. she's a great writer, has wonderful things to say, and is encouraging and inspiring. if you read back in her posts about a year or two, fyi, you will cry.

  33. Hey! I've been reading your blog for over a year now and I don't think you "follow" my blog but you should. :) It's not a fun "mommy blog" (yet) but I do throw some easy fool proof recipes on there a lot of the time. I know you hate to cook but if you take one thing away from my blog...that would probably be it.

Ok,that sounded like begging...i'm done now.

  36. I completely understand priorities that come along once a child does! I didn't read many blogs this summer but now that I am back to teaching, it gets me through my day. I love your comments that you leave me and how sometimes we end up having a conversation via e-mail! Take care and have a great weekend :)

  37. I have a hard time keeping up with other blogs, and I don't have a child yet and I don't have near the amount of followers that you do. So I understand how hard it must be for you to keep up! But I love your blog!!

  38. I love your blog! Your writing cracks me up. :) And I totally understand... I've been known to sit on my rump for several hours only reading blogs... it's an illness. And I don't have kids, but I should probably be studying... ;)

    ReplyDelete
  39. I can completely understand how you feel. I always feel bad when people start following and I just don't have all the time read.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh yeah, I totally get ya. It's hard with a little one. You want to be the best mom and it's a little hard if you're glued to the phone or computer.
Anyways, I've been reading for a little while. I'm a long-time friend of Jess (your Twitter buddy), so between her and Charbelle, I found you. I think you're adorable, and I like to follow people I'd hang out with in real life if it were possible.
So yeah. If you want to keep up with me and my randomness, feel free. It's hkemper.blogspot.com. Otherwise, I'll still be blog stalking you. I can't help it. You and the babydoll are just too darn cute.

  42. I hear ya, You follow me already but I do miss the few mommy chats we had. :) I'm trying to update more, and with better topics than Ethan, but I can't seem to type it all out when I sit at the computer. It's hard I tell ya, but you do such a great job and that's why I love reading your posts!

  43. Hi! I found your blog through other blogs but I just wanted to leave a comment because I have an Emeline too! She was born in July 09 :) Its such a rare name I HAD to say hi to another Emeline momma!

  44. I am pretty sure that you swing by my blog from time to time, but figured I would still leave you a comment. I feel the same way sometimes too...just enough time to post on my own and not comment on others. I know in the spring when I am student teaching that is going to be really difficult!

    ReplyDelete
  45. i read all of your posts. in fact i was one of those i do not have a blog readers for quite some time. i took the blog plunge over the summer and dont get to it as often as id like, but im still working on a routine. stop on over if you'd like.
