I wish the word "random" wasn't so overused. Because it's so appropriate for this post.

-I can easily bake a batch of cupcakes, cookies or something and not touch or eat a single one of them. Honestly, I'm more tempted to lick the batter than actually eat the final product. I'm not a huge sweets person and never really have been.

-Emeline is the fastest, most ferocious stair climber ever now. It borderline gives me a heart attack how fast she can get up there. She thinks it's a game now, but I? Do not.

-I like parmesan cheese, red pepper flakes and garlic salt with a side of pizza. Okay, all kidding aside-I seriously enjoy my pizza a million times more with all that yummy goodness on top. Anyone else?

-We had swim lessons this morning. I haven't really mentioned much about them, but so far? I like it, a lot. We finished class three out of six today. My girl loves the water and is really content the whole time. Even today, a bunch of the other babies were screaming but she didn't. However, I'm bound to pay for that since I just typed it. Of course I'll have the screamer next week. Will keep you posted.

-For all you Weight Watchers people (yes, there's a ton of you out there--hellloooo!), did you know a bag of pretzel m&m's is only 4 points? Just thought you should know that. My sister filled me in on that yesterday, and I? Feel like I'm indulging in a major way. Score.

-What are your thoughts on diet soda in the morning? It's no different than coffee, right? What about if you have coffee and also stop for a diet dr. pepper at chick-fil-a? Does that make it wrong? No reason. Just wondering.

-I'm also the mom who neglectfully forgot to get my kid something green to wear today. In fact, I even chose her new swimsuit to wear to class (it's navy blue with a pink elephant) over the green one she already owns. St. Patricks Day FAIL.

-Today in class, there's a new'ish swim-instructor-in-training and she was next to us in the circle time. All the instructors were pretending little "leprechauns" were biting the kid's feet. So they were grabbing their toes under water. Cute, right? Wrong. The instructor-in-training GRABBED MY LEG and tickled it instead of Emeline's foot on accident. Talk about an awkward moment. She was red with embarrassment. I flashed her a flirty smile.

I kid...I kid.

-Speaking of flirty...this weeks Glee? Maybe one of my favorites. Just sayin'.

Happy St. Patty's Day....or something.

  1. I am the EXACT same way as you ... I will bake cookies, cupcakes, cakes, etc, but not eat a single cooked item. Me...I want the batter! Yum!! :)

  2. I only want the cookies while I'm baking them. Then I have two and I'm done.

My kids don't have green for today. Meh.

Diet soda is JUST LIKE coffee. For reals. And an extra stop for some fountain soda? So okay.

  3. I totally believe in diet coke in the morning. A cup of caffeine is all the same to me. I have had people challenge me on it but I don't care. Especially in the summer when it's hot here-if it's 85 at 7am I do not want coffee. But for the record, I will drink it in the morning in winter too :)

  4. Oooh gosh....those pre-walkers LOVE them stairs!!! Trey was ALWAYS climbing up when we went to visit my Sister!!! I think it's like the "bug drawn to the light" type of thing! It's just calls out to them! Ha!

Soda in the morning for me is a No-No, but hey....so is COFFEE!!! I'm an OJ and ice type of girl....boo.

Talk about a St. Patty's Day fail as well....did NOT buy the boys their shirts today!!! FORGOT!!!! Even Jackson's "1st SPD" shirt....gosh. I feel bad now.....okay, over it! They have green clothes anyway!

  5. I love random posts! And the pizza....I'm such a Weirdo. I love eating the topping off first and then going in for the dough. So strange, but so delish. :) happy st. Pattys day!

  6. I am so unlike you. I love to bake but I have to refrain myself or else I will eat the entire batch within 10 minutes. So sad.

Also, the diet soda thing? Tell "your friend" who wanted you to ask us about it that it's TOTALLY FINE. One of my "friends" sometimes drinks a REGULAR soda in the morning (and please consider it a big deal that I used the word soda for you...)

The swim instructor tickling your leg? I die ... at least she got your leg and not you whoo haa.

  7. I do both.. batter and the result! But I only really bake cookies and brownies. I am not into the indulgence of cheesecake or truffles. Too rich for me!

  13. Oh flirty girl hahahahha!

Bummer on the St Pat's forget. :(

Nice on the pretzel m&m's. Healthy Choice Fudge Bars = 2 points!!! Sooo delicious and chocolate satisfying.

And um, yeah diet pop IS my coffee. I have never done coffee and zero points = hell yes!

Diet Dr. Pepper is my friend.

  14. When I bake, I eat as much as I can. But, I have a pantry full of Girl Scout cookies that I won't touch because I realized (only this year, that I do not like them) my kids love them though.
Pizza toppings?? Love Parm cheese, pepper flakes, and italian herb seasoning. YUM!
I sent my daughter to school today with a green ribbon in her hair (they wear uniforms).I remember every year because I KNOW (from experience) they will be pinched.

GLEE!! Every episode is my favorite. Love that show!!

  15. Vince and I both always put crushed red pepper and garlic salt on our pizza too.. it's just so much better that way :)

and I don't drink coffee, so I drink a Diet Dr Pepper in the morning most days of the week haha. (well actually I currently gave it up for lent, but as soon thats over I will be back to drinking it in the mornings I'm sure haha)

  17. I don't drink coffee. Or Diet pop for that matter. I may be one of the only people alive that caffeine has zero effect on, so it's kinda like why bother!

I can't wait to take Jamie swimming, if it's anything like bath time he's going to love it! Now if only I could find a class that caters to working moms.....hopefully this summer!

  18. I'm kind of the same way with baking/cooking. I think the act of cooking "fills me" so much that I don't really want the food afterwards. This is especially true when I was baking/canning up a storm for the holidays. I barely even tasted anything I made and I somehow managed to lose 2 pounds despite having tons of treats at my fingertips.

  19. I would love to comment on how fabulous your pizza sounds, but I'm too busy heading out to buy OODLES of pretzel M&Ms. :-)

  20. Same way with sweets. Also diet soda > coffee or PLUS coffee. And forgot green today for me and baby.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So, this swim class, you have to get IN with the baby? Ai yi yi...I need to get Manning enrolled in one but DANG I don't want to wear a suit!

  22. I'm the same way with cupcakes! I LOVE batter!

I feel like every post I do could be titled "random" haha.

  23. I cannot make a batch of cookies and not eat them. Rather, I eat the WHOLE batch. Not good. That's why I can't make them! And I drink a diet coke EVERY morning (and a bajillion more through out the day!).

  24. I always have a diet soda in the morning. I never have coffee.

  28. Only 4 points for pretzel m&ms???? AWESOME! Now, if only all the other foods in the world were only 4 points I'd be even happier. :)

  29. Oh the poor swimming instructor!! I have BEEN THERE, and it is not fun. My oldest was sick last year and when the pediatrician was examining her she was wailing and flailing around? So I had to hold her still and I was trying to soothe her? With kisses? And so I totally kissed the pediatrician's HAND instead of my child's head.

And I still had to pay for the visit!

  30. Lucy, that made me laugh. Katie, you are so like your mother with the cookies and cakes. I can make them and not touch them but can't resist licking the spoon and the bowl clean! You already know my opinion of Diet soda so I won't say anything else. Thanks for letting me know about pretzel M & M's now I just have to wait til lent is over to get some!!!
I love you so much. Mom
