8 months on Weight Watchers...and a Vlog about it.

Sorry I went MIA yesterday. It's way, way, way unlike me to not post during the week, and even more unlike me to not post on a Monday.

But, the last few days I've been in the foulest of foul moods, and that does not translate well into writing. It was better to just stay away. I can hear your chorus of thankfulness through my computer screen. You're welcome.

---

Anyway, my sister & I got together yesterday and we decided it'd been way too long since we'd recorded a vlog about Weight Watchers. In fact, we went back and had a giggle at our first & second vlogs, and admired how our faces got progressively thinner. Hey, losing 40+ pounds will do that to you :)

This vlog just focuses on the difference we feel from the start of weight watchers until now (8 months later), and should hopefully be a little boost of encouragement to those of you just starting out, or a few months in.

And lastly, I've recently updated the "Lose It" tab on my nav bar, where you can see updated weight loss pics, and the dreaded before's paired with it. If seeing my fat pictures after baby doesn't motivate you, I don't know what will.

***

Thanks again for your all your encouragement along the way, ladies.

  2. Wow you ladies look great! Do you ever have a cheat day or do you stick to your points every.single.day?

  3. No effing lie: I think about your before/afters when I want a cookie :)

  4. Love this--I was so excited when my waist was less than 35 inches too!

Also, I love that fruit is free with Weight Watchers. I've been tracking calories with MFP for a couple weeks now just to see where I'm at, and I've noticed that I tend to eat less fruit when I'm counting calories, because let's face it--I'd rather eat a brownie than a peach. But if it were "free", I think I might reach for it more often, ya know? Maybe I should just stop recording fruit altogether--I wonder if WW points are lower than the typical calorie ranges to account for that?

  5. First, you look GREAT!!!!

Second, thank you for posting this. I'm not overweight, but I am out of shape and not happy with my body. Reading and hearing your story reminds me that making good choices WILL have results. Sometimes I need to be reminded of that otherwise I make bad choices and think it doesn't matter. Seeing the results is a very powerful reminder of what can be done with a bit of effort.

    Thanks for sharing!

  7. Love it. Katie, do you think when you reach goal, you'll keep paying for WW online so that you can keep tracking on your phone? I currently do the monthly membership because I need that accountability, but thought about switching to online. I'm not sure if you get the free membership when you reach goal though. I LOVE being able to track on my phone and am so much better because of that feature. I'm just not sure I want to keep paying for it when I do reach my goal. Have you heard of any good apps that you can just buy to keep tracking?

By the way, I also appreciated you mentioning going up and down a bit. I was visiting my family last week and planned to blow some points at the state fair. I weighed in earlier that day (because I was sure I would be down) and I was up 1.2! I could have cried right there. It was such a blow. I ended up skipping last week's weigh-in so that I could catch up. I'm hoping to be back on track, and down a bit, on Friday. I'm glad to know other girls are going up sometimes too.

  8. Great job with the before and after photos. I like those because of course it makes you feel good to see how well you have done, But they also give everyone else the see you can do it too kind of motivation. Thanks for sharing your journey. I am relatively new to your blog so just getting to go through older posts to know your story a little better. Good luck with the last few pounds you both want to lose.

  9. Ok, I watched this yesterday and didn't comment. Sorry! 1) You both look fantastic. 2) I needed this. I am not new to WW but I have been slacking. Mainly b/c I am nursing right now and get 43 freaking points and feel like I don't need to write things down. But alas, I do! I was down 42ish lbs before I got pregnant, gained 40 while pregnant, and I am now just under my prepreg weight...and I need to push on. I have another 36-40 lbs to lose so I need to buckle down!!
    Thanks!! :)

  11. I follow your blog but I don't follow weight watchers. I am however working to lose weight, and have lost 25lbs in the last 3 months. Mind you I've got A LOT of weight to lose. I think it's great that you two as sisters can and have supported each other along this journey to get healthier. I also think it's great that you talk about it and share that journey with others!! Even if one doesn't follow weight watchers, they can take what you said and apply it to whatever plan it is they are using, the fact that it can be hard in the beginning and gradually become easier is something that I often hear from many who have been successful. I'm not quite at that mindset yet but I know that as I continue on it'll get a little easier with each day. Thank you for sharing, you both look amazing!!!

  12. So glad yall did this. I've been on WW for 2 weeks and lost about 5 lbs. Katie, I totally relate to you right now with being so close to your goal weight and having to put a little more effort in. It's SO hard to lose those last few lbs. So yeah, definitely encouraging to hear someone else is going through the same thing. Even so, you BOTH look amazing. Well done, ladies.

  13. AWESOME job, ladies! You both look great and I was really amazed to hear not just about the total pounds shed, but the inches lost as well! I think most of us dieters don't think about inches, but it's a great indicator of weight loss, for sure. I am, curious what you have added/done differently in the exercise arena? Were you mainly losing the weight/inches just by doing WW (eating less) or did you do something else to "re-shape" your body?
Again- amazing job ladies! Thank you for sharing your journey with us and for posting these vlogs!

  16. :D Love the vlog! And I sooo needed the encouragement. I kinda shy away from tracking when I eat badly and now I am just going to track it anyways cause of y'all :D

    Looking great ladies :)))))

  17. Wow. Thank you for posting this. I just started working out again and have been tracking calories for a week to try and get my weight back in the right range. I've been thinking about WW since I saw your first blog back in January and I think I should just suck it up and do it - yes it costs money but if you stick with it, I think you've proven that it can/does work!

  18. Oh my goodness you girls look AMAZING! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. You're vlogs and before and after photos have been such an inspiration for me.

You look great. Keep up the great work :)

  19. Thanks for the video gals. You are both looking awesome. I started WW about a month ago and am down 7.6 pounds. I will be in Vegas with a bunch of skinny girls that can eat anything over the weekend so I am nervous, but I feel like watching your video helps me see that smart decisions can be made without having to sacrafice a good time!! Keep up the good work :)

  20. Okay I'm pretty sure you just convinced me to sign up. I hate to spend the $, but surely I'll be more committed that way?! Um yeah. I've got a toddler and a half to lose. ;)

  21. You both look SO GOOD! Congrats on losing so much weight!!

I am two weeks in to weight watchers and 11 weeks post partum. It's discouraging to me because I never had a weight issue and I assumed that the baby weight would just MELT off.

    HA!

Yeah..not so much. I have only lost like three pounds so far. I thought it would be more but I guess three is better than zero. I am 15 pounds away from my goal and it feels like it might as well be 115 pounds.

But I am going to keep with it.
    Thanks for the encouragement.

  22. Just came across your blog (from the erincondren.com FB page), and started looking at all your weight loss posts. SO inspiring. I've progressively been gaining weight for the past few years, and haven't done anything about it. Although I don't have any kids, your "before" picture looks much like my body now. I'm going to look into trying WW and hopefully be able to shed the 60lbs I need to.
