When it happens on your watch & a few photos.

I have a post up over at The Poop Whisperer if you want to check it out. It's all about when your kids get hurt & those mom-fail type moments. One you may want to weigh in on. So go take a look

***

Last night we were at my parents for a little bit with some out of town friends. Declan and I snuck away to the hammock for a few minutes--just to talk, unwind a little bit, you know.

When we were playing patty-cake with Emeline, I saw my sister out of the corner of my eye creep up with her camera.

I appreciate these few photos so much because usually? I'm the one with the camera. I'm the one creeping up on sweet moments trying to savor them for people. I sometimes, but rarely am on the receiving end of that.

So, these are special to me.

Don't forget to go chime-in over at PW. See you there...

  1. Precious! I feel the same way. I'm usually the one snapping the pictures. Her little blonde curls are too much.

  2. It is a rare thing to be the one in front of the camera, I totally get that :) These are the sweetest pics, love Eme's expression in the second one, so cute!

  4. Ohhhh these are so, so special. I know exactly what you mean. Every once in awhile, my husband takes the camera from me on his own accord ... he always seems to capture the most beautiful images of me with my kiddos. Totally priceless.

  6. Love them! So special. Although I'm not a good photographer, I am also usually the one holding the camera in our family. I have oodles of pictures of Eva alone or Eva and evan together, hardly any of her and I or the 3 of us - so the ones I have? LOVE.

  17. What sweet pictures to treasure! Don't want to be a creeper, so I'm introducing myself. I'm a recent reader, with two little girls near your daughter's age. Love your perspective and your pictures!

  19. Great photos. You are so lucky to have such a snap happy family. It's not often "Mama" gets in photos because she's typically the one with the camera. You have a beautiful family.

  23. Adorable! LOVE candid shots and these are great pictures. I too feel like I am always the one behind the lens rather than in front of, and we always take such "posed" pics. What a sweet family :)
