Until I can write the words...

So, transitioning home has been a bit difficult. Just more of a, whoa this is my life now thing and figuring out how to keep up with the toddler demands at the same time trying to soak in this sweet, blissful newborn phase that goes too stinking fast. It's a hard balance. I also need to grow another set of hands--because, for real.

I'm glad my husband is home to help for the rest of the week and weekend--but I've still found it hard to just sit down and type out the birth story. I HAVE TO DO IT, though. I will do it. But--I just haven't had time and it will take time.

BUT. I did manage to get together the photos from a lot of her first few days of life. Of course this is only a snapshot of the bulk of pictures--but it tells a story. I'm so proud of my husband for taking 90% of these pictures. We decided we just wanted it to be us in the delivery room this time--and he still managed to coach me, snap a few pictures, and get the feel of the special day she arrived. I love that man.

Consider this just a taste, without words, of our last few days.

Hopefully the words can come soon.

  1. It is overwhelming at first! Normal! Parker was 21 1/2 months when Hudson was born and also a little needier than normal bc he was cutting eye teeth too. I remember the first night we had both boys are P was going to bed, thank goodness for wonderful husbands, and he was screaming for Mommy, Mommy! But I totally felt like I had been hit like by a truck still, and you know wasn't really supposed to hold him a whole lot. I just remember lots of emotions those first few days. Don't feel guilty to ask for help, to ask for Eme to have a sleepover with grandparents even once a month or more. It does get easier, I promise. Some days are crazy, and there will be times when they both demand mommy in every direction which is frustrating at times, but hang in there, praying for you and KNOW you can do it Momma :)

  10. Well a picture really is worth a thousand words. So you've gotten out over ten thousand now. Take your time and enjoy writing it a reliving it :) I'm so glad to see you had her vaginally. I was worried with one of your comments that maybe it was a c sect. I hear those are hard to recover from. Esp if there's two little ones to care for. I live the picture of Emeline with her little hands clasped looking in such complete elation at Lucy. It's beyond words.

  25. All of your stories, pictures, FB updates, IG shots....MAKE ME CRY. I'm sure it's the hormones but I'm seriously so SO over the moon for you that sweet Lucy is here. I know how badly you wanted her here before Susan left but it's all happened how it was supposed to.

And seeing all the sweet squishy kissable pictures is making it more real to ME that I'M having another baby boy in a few short months...Ah! *breathe breathe*

But keep 'em all coming. I've bought stock in Kleenex since Sunday ;)

  26. Give it time. You'll get the hang of it. It took me longer than I thought it should but 2 babies at the same time? It was rough. Sheesh! I can only imagine that a mobile toddler and a baby are just as much of a challenge.

Love the squishy baby pictures. Squish, squish. :)

Congrats again! Don't stress about blogging. Go get some rest and soak up that squishy baby.

I can't wait to experience a love and feeling of such strong emotion like that of my own ... just a few more short weeks and I will know exactly what it is to be a mom.
    Congratulations!
